Trekking the Unknown: A Journey of Landscape Photography - Thomas de Franzoni

Β Hello to all fellow photographers andΒ avid readers, welcome to this weeks feature! This week we'll be featuring an incredible landscape photographer, Thomas de Franzoni, who adds his own unique artistic touch to all of the mesmerizing landscapes he encounters. Let's dive in and soak up some of the beautiful momentsΒ Thomas hasΒ been able to captureΒ during theΒ 8 years of his wonderful photography career.Β Β

Β Every photographer needs their own creative ability to separate their portfolios from the endless others out there. Thomas has a tremendous ability to put a beautiful twist on his photos and he is able to create his own unique style for each moment he captures. He's particularly fond of black and white photos, but also finds himself drawn to cutting through all of the clutter in the world andΒ highlighting the minimalist essence of his subjects. We always love a good B&W over here at TheLifeWeCapture. Sure the irresistible colors of our world are always something to enjoy, but there's just something about the mood a well framed black and white photo can bring which continuously hasΒ us falling in love with them. Thomas has labeled the capture below as "Colossal Shade" and it's quite fitting if you ask us!Β

Β

Β With tremendous style comes the need to harness inspiration. Thomas utilizes the work of others to gather ideas and to discover new and interesting possibilities. He'll dedicate time to surf professional websites, Facebook, and Instagram for similar styles within his niche. All of these sources are perfect for opening up new avenues for your photography and can help you hone in on what you do and don't like. It's always wise to pull inspiration from like minded peers and it's a huge part of why we've created TheLifeWeCapture community in the first place. We've wanted to build a space where photographers can come together and help each other grow in all aspects of the craft.Β

Β A landscape photographer is always needing to go above and beyond to capture scenes many eyes have never seen before. This often requires devoted effort to reach the unknown and even carefully slipping intoΒ remote places. Thomas has had his fair share of journeys where he's had to walk hours on end, whether it be in the downpour of rain or hurdling over unsteady obstacles and dangerous paths. Without his commitment we all wouldn't be able to enjoy his beautiful work. We're not necessarily trying to advocate you placing yourself into danger, all we're saying is please be cautious if you do!Β

Β

Β With 8 years of experience under his belt we wanted to ask Thomas for advice he could give to our readers who are beginning their photography journey. In his response he emphasized the importance of understanding the basic notions of photography techniques and equipment. We've actually started a series of blogs for new photographers which you canΒ startΒ here. After you've learned the basics you'll be able to dive deep into the creative aspects of photography. We agree with Thomas as he mentioned; like all arts photography needs emotions, inventions, and relies on your intuition to build your captures around who you are. We all need to make mistakes in order to improve our skills and doing so will allow us to explore which branch of photography would be best suited for our own individualistic personalities.Β

Β The best photography memories Thomas has from his extensive endeavors as a photographer are always the photos he takes during trips with his family. He has one in particular we'll share with you below and it's labeled "On the Top of the Hill" which was taken in the peak of a beautiful afternoon close to the realm of Slovenia. It's absolutely framed to perfection; capturing the chill of winter with the breathtaking back drop of snowy mountain tops and freezing the sense of a serene atmosphere forever in time.Β

Β Thomas is active in furthering his photography knowledge and skills. While he focuses on mastering minimalist photography he also participates in being a curator for 100ASAΒ and is an admin of a photography group on Facebook which is growing at a rapid pace. He loves placing himself in the heart of the photography world and always welcomes new collaborations to further surround himself in all things revolving around this wonderful profession. We've created our own Facebook group too and we'd love for you to join and help make it a wonderful, and active community for photographers! As always, below you'll find Thomas's informationΒ so you canΒ find more of his work. He's one of our favorite photographers to follow and highly recommend you start to follow as well!Β
