Hey everyone! First off, thank you for taking the time to check out TheLifeWeCapture! It really means a lot to me that you're here and I hope you're able to find something worthwhile when browsing TLWC.

I'm the owner of TLWC and it's been a very fun, sometimes frustrating, to put this entire project together. As of right now I'm the sole creator and developer of TLWC but I hope one day I'll be able to bring some fellow photography enthusiast on board to help take this photography brand to the next level.

Below there will be a bit of details about my own photography. Now that I have TheLifeWeCapture foundation set I'm happy to know I'll be able to start getting out and taking more of my own photos. I'm really interested to start practicing in the long exposures and minimalism niches, but more than likely I'll be sharing some nature scenes and local wildlife. You can check out my Instagram @tlwc_rt to see my most recent work, or you can scroll down further and see some of my favorites here on this page.

If you ever have any questions or concerns about TLWC please feel free to reach out! I'm always looking forward to connection with new photographers and doing what I can to help anyone out! (:

Favorite Niche

Long Exposures

There's just something extraordinary about long exposure shots in nature. I'm looking forward to going on some waterfall hikes to practice my own.

Quick Photography Tip

Framing Focus

One of the most crucial elements for photography in my opinion is framing. Not only the subject, but mindful background and foreground can make or break an image. Keep an eye on the full scope of the frame while out shooting.

Upcoming Travels

Alaska

I'm headed out on a cruise to Alaska in May and I'm excited to bring along my camera to capture its breathtaking scenic views while both on the boat and also land adventures while we port. This might be where I really start my practice with long exposure photography!

About Robert Taylor

Robert Taylor is the creator of TheLifeWeCapture, a platform he’s been actively building into more than just a photography site—it’s a growing community. His focus has always been on making it feel real and useful for all levels of photography. From creating blog content and photographer features to building out things like community hubs and interactive challenges, he’s hands-on with everything and constantly looking for ways to make the experience better for photographers. The goal is simple: give people a place to share their work, improve, and actually feel part of something.

He’s currently shooting on a Canon Rebel T6 with a 75–300mm lens—still using his original setup and proving that you don’t need top-tier gear to get shots you’re proud of. He considers himself an amateur, but he’s got a strong eye for composition and is always working on leveling up, especially when it comes to post-processing. A lot of his photography comes from everyday moments, especially from local parks and quick trips.

Outside of photography, Robert’s creativity shows up in a lot of different ways. He’s been developing his own mobile game, while also exploring sketching, writing, and design. That same mindset carries over into how he builds TheLifeWeCapture—he’s always thinking about how to improve things, whether it’s refining layouts, adding new features, or creating better ways for photographers to get involved. At the end of the day, he’s just focused on building something meaningful, improving his skills, and bringing people along for the journey.

Photography gear

Current Setup

- Canon Rebel t6

- 75-300mm lens

Still rocking my starting kit and it's been handy to capture pretty much every photo I've been wanting. Soon I'll upgrade to a nice telephoto lens for those wildlife shots. Oh and I always have my trusty iPhone to get those on the go photos, especially on the golf course.

Photography level

Amateur

While I sometimes still feel like a beginner in this world of photography, I'd say its safe to call myself an amateur. Mainly because I have a solid understanding of overall composition, but I'm definitely a beginner when it comes to post-processing. That stuff is tough & a whole other piece of art.

Other hobbies

Game Dev | Sketching | Golf

There's a few other creative outlets I really enjoy such as 3D game development and design. It pairs well with my creative writing and sketching interests, and I hope to one day intertwine the them all into a series of games with fun gameplay and a meaningful story.

You'll also notice a lot of photos from golf courses because it's one of my favorite outdoor activities! They hold some very underrated views in the world of photography and it's fun to photograph those while playing a round.
